Shen Liang will present a solo exhibition, The Art of a Niche, at the Art Museum of Nangjing University of the Arts from 15th October to 8th November, featuring the artist's work in a series of subject matters, such as the “Painted Book Series," which is a series of humorous scribbling on old books, and the “Journey to the West," which is a series of reinterpretation of traditional texts, as well as a sketch of his observation of life. Through the perspectives of “the art of a niche," the sometimes playful and sometimes serious interpretations of Shen Liang's works are a unique presence in Chinese contemporary art.

Shen Liang, born in Liaoning Province China, 1976, graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China. His work is in collection of Seattle Art Museum, U.S.A., White Rabbit Gallery, Australia, The National Art Museum of China, and CAFA Art Museum, China. He also had solo exhibitions in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany, New York, U.S.A, Seoul, South Korea, and Beijing, China.
